North Carolina policymakers are prioritizing big business over new business. Last year, policymakers put $2.2 billion on the table for Amazon’s HQ2. Imagine what could have been possible if North Carolina policymakers instead invested a fraction of that in entrepreneurs.
The deck is stacked against local North Carolina business owners, especially women, people of color, and rural entrepreneurs. The result: Entrepreneurship has been stagnant for 20 years. It’s time to level the playing field.
